Indusries for the Blind
Spend a week at Camp Dogwood located on Lake Norman.  This facility is available during the summer months for all visually impaired persons residing in North Carolina.  Interested persons should contact either the Concord LionsClub or the Cabarrus County Social Services Worker for the Blind for assistance with registration.  In most instances a Lions Club will pay the $85 fee.
VIP Fishing Tournament
Each year approximately 500 visually impaired persons gather in the fall at Nags Head for the annual NC Lions Fishing Tournament.  Persons interested in attending this special event should contact either the Concord Lions Club or the Cabarrus County Social Services Worker for the Blind.  Transportation and accomodations are provided by the Lions of Cabarrus County.
Free Eye and Hearing Examinations

Persons with vision or hearing problems who are financially unable to pay for tests, eyeglasses or hearing aids should contact the Cabarrus County Social Services worker for the Blind. 
Recycling Used Eyeglasses
If you have used eyeglasses, please drop them in the Lions Club collection box at the entrance of the Wal-Mart in Cabarrus County or give them to a member of a local Lions Club.  They will be refurbished and used by persons in countries around the world who are in need of eyeglasses
Parties for the Visually Impaired
We sponsor picnics and Christmas parties annually for our Visually Impaired friends and family members who live in the city of Concord.  If you or someone you know would like to participate in any activities offered by the Concord Lions Club, please contact an officer or member of our club.
